Canadian Pups & Handlers Contest at Northlandsfest
CanPahc (Canadian Pups & Handlers Contest) is one of the premier title holder contests hosted at Northlandsfest. This competition celebrates excellence within the Canadian pups and handlers community, bringing together participants from across the country to compete, connect, and celebrate.
Puppy play is a consensual adult activity where participants take on the role of puppies or dogs, exploring canine behaviors, traits, and dynamics. This can include wearing gear like hoods, masks, paws, and tails, though participation varies based on personal preference. It's important to understand that this is purely between consenting adults and has nothing to do with actual animals.
Pups: Individuals who take on puppy/dog roles, exploring canine behaviors
and entering "pup space"—a meditative, present-moment state.
Handlers: Caretakers who provide guidance, commands, and care while
remaining in human form. They create safe spaces for pups to explore and play.
Trainers: Experienced community members who help others learn and grow
in their roles.
Members of our community find value in many ways: stress relief, physical interaction with others, entering meditative "pup space," exploring dominance/submission dynamics, and the freedom to express affection and playfulness without verbal communication. Above all, it's about connection, community, and authentic self-expression.
